Planning Group on Technology Progression on Railways Group Report 1986-87

Abstract

This is the Report of the Planning Group on Technology for the Railways set up by the Planning Commission in April, 1986, with the objective of assisting in the formulation of a long term perspective Plan for the Transport Sector on an Integrated basis. Our Planning Group was required to make an assessment of the existing technologies and of technological development forecasts in the next 15-20 years in the Railway Sector in relation to its operations and consider their applicability and adaptability to Indian conditions with long term options.
