Abstract

It is learnt that the Railway Ministry has decided to convert Guwahati-Landing section of railways from meter gauge to broad cause. If this is done by replacing the existing meter gauge this is likely to affect very adversely to Tripura in its transportation system. It the broad cause is extended till Landing and the meter gauge is removed, the goods which otherwise would have come directly to Dharmanagar will have to be unloaded and reloaded at Landing.
