dc.description.abstractThe geographical and demographic parameters of this territory are contained within an area of approximately 83.57 Sq. KMs and a population of about 6.21akhs. It is bounded on three sides by International borders with Bhutan, China and Burma. The territory can be classed as an economic region with weak inter-regional links. It contains areas with resource endowments having immense economic potential as well as so-called 'problem regions' where resource potential, through existing, can not be economically utilised due to inaccessibility imposed by high altitudes and an inhospitable climate.
