Abstract
The report on “Creating a Vibrant Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India” emphasizes the urgent need to foster entrepreneurship to generate 10–15 million jobs annually and address socio-economic challenges. India currently faces regulatory hurdles, limited access to funding, and cultural stigma against entrepreneurial failure, ranking low on global entrepreneurship indices. Key recommendations focus on five pillars: catalytic government policies to streamline regulations and incentivize investors; enhanced access to equity and debt capital, including a sovereign fund-of-funds; leveraging established businesses as hubs for mentoring and resources; promoting an entrepreneurial culture through education, risk-taking, and media recognition; and building effective collaboration forums linking government, academia, and industry. The report proposes establishing a National Entrepreneurship Mission to coordinate these initiatives, track progress, and foster sustainable growth. By implementing these strategies, India can cultivate innovation, expand employment, and strengthen its socio-economic development through a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
