dc.description.abstractThe Andaman and Nicobar consists of 348 islands, out of which only 30 Islands have yet been inhabited. A programme for populating these islands is in hand under the Accelerated Development Programme. The islands are far away from the mainland and there is an urgent need for improving the communications between the mainland and the islands between the islands and on the islands.
