dc.description.abstractThis Stats of Andhra Pradesh, formed in 1956 comprising most of the Telugu speaking people, has an area of 2.75 lakh sq.kms and a population of 53. 5 million (1981). it ranks as the fifth largest State both in terms of area and population in the Indian Union. The State is a tropical region and has a long coast-line. It claims some of the best forest areas. It is referred to the River State because the major rivers of Krishna, Godavari, Tungabhadra, Pennar and Nagavali flow through the State. The temperature ranges from a minimum of 14.1 degrees centigrade (Nizamabad) in winter to a maximum of 44.8 degrees centigrade in summer (Ramagundam).
