Abstract

Agriculture is the main-stay of the people of Manipur. Nearly 70% of the population of Manipur depend on Agriculture for their livelihood. The staple food in Manipur is rice. Manipur is now producing food-grains just sufficient to feed the people. But the rate increase in population in Manipur is quite high and was 37.12 percent during the last decade ( 1961-1971 ).
