Abstract

The Universalisation of Elementary Education Remained the Primer, Concern of the Education Deptt. The implementation of many policy Programmes based on the National Policy of Education, under 20" Point Programme/ special efforts were made to increase the rate of enrolment and efficiency of performance even though many constraints stood in our way. The major weak areas in the universalisation i.e. Girls Education Education of Scheme ailed Caste children and other weaker sections of the society was given top priority. At present NCERT text books have been introduced in all classes and the process of covering XI and XII classes is likely to be complete by the end of 1985. In the field of Secondary/ Higher secondary Education the most notable feature has been the-decision to delink the plus2 classes from colleges.
