Abstract

Mizoram Union Territory is one of the youngest units of the constituents of India. Before it emerged as Union Territory in 1972 it used to be one of the hill districts of Assam. Because of its remoteness in physical and psychological term, difficult hilly terrains, lack of translation of any kind and the weak voice of the public, planned development in the district was virtually negligible.
