Abstract

Presenting the Plan-frame of the Sixth Five Year Plan 1980—85 to the National Development Council, the Deputy Chairman, Shri Narayan Dan Tiwari, stated that the Plan should be a reflection of the political will and economic priorities of the Central and State Governments and that was the reason why the highest importance was attached to the meeting of the N.D.C. The Plan-frame reflected the broad parameters and major programme thrusts. The Plan envisaged the attainment of an average annual growth rate of 5 per cent to 5.3 per cent during the five year period.
