Report of Working Group on Horticulture Development for the Formulation of Ninth Five Year Plan

Abstract

Horticultural sector has established its credibility for improving productivity of land, generating employment, improving economic conditions of the farmers and entrepreneurs, enhancing exports and above all providing nutritional security to the people. This sector therefore, needs to be brought to the forefront in the overall agricultural strategy of the country and continued to be treated as extreme focus area for providing strong support for its overall development by the Government.
